Jammers Basketball was created to compete in quality local and travel tournaments. Our goal is to give the young athletes of Georgetown, Texas and surrounding areas an opportunity to enjoy the game of basketball in a healthy and safe environment. We believe in a FUNDAMENTALS FIRST approach that increases the individual skills of the players within a team environment. We promote competitiveness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the opportunity to succeed in the Jammers' program.
The organization operates largely on donations and corporate and individual sponsorships. The mission of the program is to give as many athletes in
As with any organization, the Jammers do periodic fund raising activities to keep the individual costs for the players to a minimum. Players are asked to assist in this endeavor by participating in fund raisers and obtaining sponsorships where available.
We believe that the key to skill development in basketball starts with the quality of coaching. The Jammers are committed to providing the best coaching available. Our coaches all share the common values that fundamentals, teamwork, responsibility and competitiveness are all values that we want to promote. Above all of these items, our players should have a positive learning experience and have fun.
Jammers Basketball is a select organization whose teams plays in area tournaments and showcase events throughout the year. The seasons are broken out by Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. All players are required to tryout. Selection decisions are made by the coaches based on skill level and experience. Every effort will be made to match the player with the team that matches the player's current ability and performance. The organization reserves the right to limit the size of the teams to ensure that each member has the ability to play as much as possible. Additional teams may be added as resources and interest allow.
The Jammers Basketball program is an open and transparent organization. We are always open to adding other teams and players to our organization provided that there is adequate coaching, gym space and interest. Above all, players and coaches should hold the philosophy that youth basketball is for the players, not the parents.
